HOW IT STARTED

2015

This is when it began. After years of consuming coffee and spending countless hours across Midwest coffee shops. Ty dove into the roasting scene and started educating himself through classes and many pounds of wasted beans. From whirley pops to grills to industrial roasters, learning was all about repetition. And...

2015

During the first year we learned something almost daily. From the intricacies of roasting to the subtle differences in bags, this period was full of failure. It was out of this failure our first iteration of our business began. Alongside a good friend we began our official roasting endeavors.

Throughout the journey of starting a business you quickly learn that failing is just part of the equation. There was a lot of incredible lessons we learned during the 1st full year of running a coffee roasting business. One of the key lessons learned was that being consistent is MORE IMPORTANT than being unique. This and many of these moments helped us press onward the following years.

2017

In early 2017 we took full ownership of the roasting business and formalized what is now known as Dubbs Coffee. The meaning behind "Dubbs" isn't incredibly deep... it's simply the shorthand for the "W" in Wilson. This is a constant reminder for our family as we stick together and have fun roasting/selling coffee.

We built a roasting room and moved our beautiful industrial Diedrich Roaster into our facility. We have complete ownership (& flexibility) within the roasting process.

In early 2018 we doubled-down on our investment in Dubbs and put more emphasis on getting coffee to the masses. In April we started a few new formal grocery/retail relationships and have started to slip into a variety of retail spots. This also has helped us tweak our roasting process to ensure we are ALWAYS providing fresh coffee to our clients.

WHY WE EXIST

We started Dubbs Coffee around this idea that fresh, pure, & fun can all be part of the coffee drinking experience. There are a lot of gimmicks in the coffee world. Many revolve around this idea that more is better. Or worse, the idea that additives are somehow good for your brew. We are here to disprove this idea.

We never sell shelf coffee from our website.
We never taint our coffee with additives, flavors, or gimmicks.
We never over-complicate a really simple pleasure.

We exist to provide you the freshest and purest form of coffee possible. No stuffiness or fakeness allowed. Just pure coffee and fun. That's our mission.
